Registry Adventures

The last time Matthew and I register, I could not hang for more than 30 minutes (low blood sugar) and ended up registering online at home. That was at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and I was determined to register at Belks today and to go to town inside their store with the scanner. So today after school, I went straight to Belks and set up a registry.

The girl there was super helpful, and I gave her ideas for our house/decorations, and she pulled lots of things for me. I went around scanning for about an hour and a half. I went a little crazy with the scanner-it was like I was buying stuff, but not paying for it :) ha.

Well, the great things about Belks is the "fine china/serve ware" section. I got a little too excited there. I knew that I wanted to pick a china pattern (because I'm old-fashioned), and I had picked one that was from Lenox...and accidently scanned 720 china place settings at $80 each. I also scanned 72 spoon rests and 72 casserole dishes (I must have kept hitting 72 with my thumb or something). After all that Lenox scanning, I ended up picking the Mikasa French Countryside pattern for "fine china" and then for more casual dining, I went with the Kate Spade Fair Harbor sets in Bayberry. Who knows if I will get any of those place settings, but it is nice to picture my pretty table set with pretty china :)

Well at the end of my scanning spree, the lady who helped me printed out my registry list....it prints on one sheet there, and the sheet was taller then the both of us, ha! She pointed out my errors and said that I was not the first person to register multiples...but because my registry list valued over $10,000 I got a free gift...that ended up being a super nice, long strand of pearls!

Don't worry, after I got home I removed all of the ridiculous items (like the $150 silver egg tray I thought I NEEDED). We went from having like 980 gifts on our registry down to 85....kind of funny!
